Balkan and Black Sea Shipping Company Limited was incorporated in London on the 17th February 1966 as a joint venture between the Bulgarian Shipping Corporation and UK interests. In 1967 the Bulgarian Shipping Corporation obtained 100% of the shareholding by buying out the UK interests and eventually transferred the shares to Navigation Maritime Bulgare, a situation which exists today.

The initial activities of the Company were Ship Chartering, Sale and Purchase and representation of the Bulgarian Maritime Fleet.  The Company then extended its activities in the United Kingdom to Ship Agency, P & I Claims Handling and Broking, Freight Forwarding and Bunkering and in 1971 began to expand its activities overseas by creating both branch offices and subsidiaries in Germany, Greece, Belgium and Singapore.

In 1983, with the continuing development of the containerisation within the Bulgarian Maritime Fleet, the Company and its overseas offices and subsidiaries were appointed exclusive sales and booking agents for the Bulcon Line - the specialised container service of Navigation Maritime Bulgare.

The Company has continued to expand both in the UK and abroad, including the purchase of its own accommodation both in London and overseas and the establishment of joint venture companies - Balkan and Black Sea Shipping (Turkiye) in Istanbul and Bulspain SA in Spain.

Balkan and Black Sea Shipping Company Limited  as a Group is continually seeking new ways to expand and develop business both in the UK and overseas but always ensuring that the Principals are provided with the very best possible service.
